What's it all about?

Foundation 5 million (F5m) is about people with MS (PwMS) doing it for themselves, with help from their families and friends. One of us, Mike, has MS. Mike's wife, Katrina, and our friend, Liz, walked the Kokoda Track in 2008 to raise $33,000 for F5m. This journey is three times the distance so we've tripled our fundraising goal to $100,000.

The Mudgee2Sydney Walk for MS research will cover 270kms in 11 days - on main highways, quiet side streets, dirt tracks, mountain bike/fire trails, bush walks and footpaths. Choose the leg that interests you or join us for the whole journey.

This inaugural event aims to:
* raise awareness of the most common neurological disease amongst young adults in Australia - Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
* encourage the creation of new F5m support groups in regional NSW and
* raise $100,000 to fund research into finding a cure.

Funds raised will be directed to F5m - Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia's (MSRA) community fundraising arm.

Please join us for the Mudgee fun run/walks, a whole day or even consider the whole way. A bike option is available on Day 8 Sun 19 Sept or simply sponsor a friend, organise an event when we pass through your town or donate to the cause.

In any way you can please help us walk towards a world free of MS.

The event starts in Mudgee on Sunday 12 Sept 2010 and will finish at the MSRA/F5m offices in Chatswood on Wednesday 22 Sept 2010.

While Katrina, Liz and others are walking Mike will manage the support crew. Their role is to support the walkers and help raise community awareness regarding MS, as well as raise funds along the way.
